PRINCESS REVEAL 50TH ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN ARTWORK
This January, the boot Düsseldorf show will see the brand build further on this partnership, as the latest design created by Jaume Vilardell for Princess is unveiled.
Tasked with creating a design that evokes the decadent era of travel in the 1960’s but with a winter twist, Spanish illustrator Jaume Vilardell has created a bespoke illustration that encapsulates the wintry London aesthetic of the period. Speaking about the designs Jaume Vilardell said, “When Princess first approached me to design their 50th anniversary illustrations I was very excited. The aim was to create something that captured the atmosphere of the 60’s when the company was founded, which is one of my favorite periods, a golden age for commercial illustration.”
Commenting on the new illustration Kiran Jay Haslam, Marketing Director at Princess Yachts said, “For the original collection Jaume drew inspiration from the Princess Yachts Project 31 and the colours that were used in its restoration, combined with the iconic 60’s Riviera glamour captured in the works of Slim Aarons. For this latest illustration we wanted a design that echoed the charm of 1960’s London, celebrating the heritage of Princess as one of the most renowned iconic British yacht manufacturers.”
Featuring a glamorous couple enjoying a glass of champagne in a stylish room on the South Bank with Big Ben as the backdrop, the artwork perfectly encapsulates the mood of Princess Yachts’ 50th anniversary celebrations. Visible through the door is a newly purchased Project 31, the first yacht made my Princess in 1965, docked on the Thames.
A myriad of sumptuous deep green and midnight blue hues are offset by graphic prints synonymous with the 1960’s, perfectly reflecting the luxury, style and craftsmanship at the heart of Princess Yachts.
Created exclusively for the London and Düsseldorf boat shows the artwork features on a selection of merchandising elements including tote bags and post cards and has led the creative inspiration for the Princess Yachts stand at both events.
The new design will be revealed at boot Düsseldorf 2016 Stand 6B21 from 23rd – 31st January.
